MINUTES
The July 27, 2009 minutes were held until the next agenda because there were not enough members present who could vote on them.
STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE REPORT
None. Steve Madsen asked to make a policy that says that the Student Representative is excused from the summer meetings unless she wishes to attend.
OPERATIONS REPORTS
Financial Report There were no questions from the Board about the Financial Report.
SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
Mr. Green said that he was disappointed in the WASL scores, particularly 4th grade, and will research into why they were lower than expected.Ìý The District did not make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).Ìý Special Education students at the elementary level and Special Ed. math classes at WMS and WHS did not make AYP. Michael said that 208 out of 295 Washington School Districts did not make AYP.Ìý The WMS is in step 2 of the school improvement; WHS is in step 1 and WIS will be in step 1 next year if they don't make AYP. The Board discussed the AYP and the School Improvement process with Michael.

CITIZENS REQUESTS
Mariah Reese invited Board members and Superintendent Green to Thursday's Drop-In/Drop-Off Day at Yale. There will be a potluck dinner and sundaes for all.Ìý

Resolution No. 2529-KWRL Property Purchase The Board discussed the KWRL Property Purchase with Michael, who went over the process.ÌýÌý This property is for a sub-station for La Center and Ridgefield buses to increase the efficiency of transportation.Ìý The property is in Ridgefield. There was some concern with Jim Bays about what fund the money would be used. This will be discussed at a later time.
Bill Woodard moved to approve Resolution No. 2529-KWRL Property Purchase.
2009-2010 Fire Science Program Agreement with Kelso School District This agreement allows two of our students to enroll in this fire science program. Janice Watts moved to approve the 2009-2010 Fire Science Program Agreement with Kelso School District.
