RE: North Fork Elementary School Update

  • Our 3rd and 4th-grade teachers are working diligently to prepare students for the upcoming Smarter Balanced Assessments next month. This marks a significant milestone for many students, as it will be their first experience with state testing. Teachers are thoughtfully balancing the challenge of covering all required state standards while also building students’ confidence and test-taking skills.
  • Our primary teachers have been actively engaging in professional development to strengthen math instruction. Several of our educators recently attended a training in Olympia titled "Fluently Building Place Value". The session offered both informative insights and practical strategies. Upon returning, these teachers collaborated with their K–2 colleagues to share their learning and developed a plan to implement key instructional practices across classrooms for the remainder of the year. This collaborative effort exemplifies our commitment to continuous learning and to supporting high-quality instruction at all grade levels.

Upcoming Events:

  • The Woodland Reads evening event is on May 1st, 5:00 - 6:30 pm. Our entire school has been reading Ranger in Time, a book about a dog’s adventures on the Oregon Trail.
  • Kindergarten Kick Off is scheduled for May 20th, 4 - 5:30 pm. This is an open house for all our incoming kindergarteners for the 25 - 26 school year.
