Re:  TEAM Board Report

1) School Improvement Plan

This school year is the first time since 2020 that the graduation pathway waiver is no longer available. This poses a very significant challenge for TEAM students and staff because TEAM students have very limited CTE options. We are doing two things simultaneously to work on this. First, because the ASVAB is a relatively accessible way to complete a graduation pathway, TEAM staff are administering that exam every month. Many TEAM students will complete their graduation pathway by earning a score of 31 or better on that exam. TEAM staff are also working to develop a “performance pathway” option. The performance pathway is an option opened by the state just recently. It’s a locally developed and scored culminating project sort of option. Work is getting started in that direction.

By way of current status, here are some beautiful graphs Liz Vallaire built to help us see where we’re going:

2)  Recognition

TEAM provides an extensive intervention and communication system for students who fall behind academically.  Each week, several dozen text messages and phone calls go out to families in an effort to identify helpful interventions for each student. The entire TEAM staff participate in this, but this time I want to single out Cyndy Garretson specifically. She excels at building relationships with families and students and plays an absolutely critical role in helping students towards their goals of graduation.

3) Upcoming Events

12-23 - 1-5 Christmas Break

1-20 MLK Day

2-19 - 2-21 TEAM staff attend ALE conference
