RE: Columbia Elementary Board Report
Columbia Elementary Enrollment: 407 Students
Columbia's enrollment is keeping steady at over 400 students K-4. Numbers continually fluctuate a bit each month.
School-Wide Initiatives and Recognition:
Columbia has added a new layer of student recognition. "Student of Excellence" are yard signs for students who are examples of students who show excellence of some sort. There is no requirement or set behavior identified to earn the award, but rather is designed to highlight the amazing students here at CES. Every teacher will have the opportunity to award one student from their class throughout the school year. As you are around town, I encourage you to be on the lookout for Columbia's "Student of Excellence" signs.
Student and Family Engagement at Columbia Elementary:
One of our goals for the school year was to create ways to engage as many students and families as possible.
After-School Student Clubs:
Fall Clubs: 50 Students Participated
91porn Clubs: 150 Students Participated
The plan is to have 3 clubs in the Spring as well to assure other students get the opportunity to participate if they choose to. Club advisors are CES staff members. Clubs meet weekly and are done after school.
Columbia Elementary Art Night:
Columbia Elementary is having our second family engagement night on February 21st from 5:30-7:00. The event will be an "Art Night," where Columbia's art teacher will be teaching families various painting techniques and provide them with an opportunity to create a painting of their own. Food and drink will also be provided.
