The investment in identifying a successor superintendent is very time-consuming for members of the board. The board will review and finalize their schedule for this process. Considering the required time investment, the inclusion of activities into the regular meeting schedule for January through April should be considered. I have attached a draft schedule of upcoming meeting topics. The board will also discuss and confirm other dates that do not involve scheduled board meeting dates.
If the board can hold to the superintendent search schedule, that important work will be done, and the May and June work sessions will be available for the board to invest in topics that will help your development.
Topics to consider:
1) and Focus on
2)
3) Overview of Curriculum and Instruction
Alternatively, the board can opt to shift from work sessions to two regular meetings for May and June.
