President Bays will lead a discussion/review of Superintendent Evaualtion.
School Board Policy 1630 discusses the evaluation of the superintendent, which must occur annually. The contract between the Board and the Supt states:
EVALUATION AND EXTENSION OF CONTRACT: The Board shall evaluate the SuperintendentÂ’s performance at least annually, in accordance with board policy, and no later than March 1 of each contract year, with the results of said evaluation made known to the Superintendent.The Board evaluation of the SuperintendentÂ’s performance shall reference annual goals and objectives for the Superintendent which shall be discussed and agreed upon by the Board and Superintendent by August 1 of each year for the coming school year.
Along with Policy 1630 there is a procedure and an evaluation form. In the spring of 2007 the board at that time discussed making chagnges to the evaluation instrument. The purpose of this discussion will be to review the process and discuss changes to the process and/or tool, that the board wishes to see occur. This will set the state for the board president and superintendent to begin working together on the develompment/refinement of appropriate tool(s) and proceedures for the Superintendnt's evaluation. It should be noted that the WSSDA conference will offer a session on this topic as well.
