This is a letter of support for proposed improvements to the traffic infrastructure in the City of Woodland; and specifically for a crossing of I-5 at Scott Avenue.听 The city of Woodland was bisected by the construction of I-5.听 Currently there are only two underpasses that allow east-west traffic flow in Woodland.听 The bulk of traffic bottlenecks through the exit 21 underpass and creates significant traffic backups, particularly during peak travel periods.
Reconnecting Scott Avenue will substantially alleviate the congestion and lead to improvements in pupil transportation to and from school.听 As well there will be significant improvements for commerce and public safety.
