This has been a busy month in the special education department.  I have submitted two major requirements, due in December, to OSPI that have translated into many hours of time by our special education staff.  I completed the yearly grant that has extensive narrative about our performance data that includes the following areas:  secondary transition, suspension/expulsion, least restrictive environment and disproportionality.  Staff reviewed our state performance data and completed narratives to address what we will do to improve these areas.  We also submitted 3 safety net applications requesting a total of $14, 337 additional funding to support our high cost students.  We will know if we are awarded the dollars mid-February.Â
