Installing/Displaying Smiles in Cutenews

Make sure you already have the smiles you want to use before beginning. Connect to your FTP server and go to where you have Cutenews installed. In the data folder find the folder called emoticons and upload your smiles.

Once this is complete login to your Cutenews admin panel. Go to Options > System Configuration and find the smiles field. In this field enter the names of the smiles you just uploaded minus the file extension snd seperate each name using a comma. (happy,crying,angry,ect..). When you're done with this click Save Changes

That's it your new smiles are installed.

If you want to show the smiles in your comment form, log into your Cutenews admin panel, then go to Options > Edit Templates and select the template to edit. Then go to Add Comment Form and where ever you want to show your smiles add this code:

{smilies}

To get your smiles to display on more than one line, in your comment form simply add a width to the area where you just put the code to add smiles. For example:

<td>Smilies:</td>
<td width="200">{smilies}</td>

save and you're done! Enjoy your new smilies!
